The Laborer performs a variety of tasks as per this job description and as assigned. The laborer must ensure to complete all assigned tasks in a safe manner and in compliance with the organizations safety guidelines and requirements. This position will work as a float for various plant locations as needed. Valid drivers License is required.
Essential Functions

• Complete area inspections and report by completing the daily plant expecting form and turn into the Foreman and/or Site Manager.
• Monitor and maintain conveyor system.
• Shovel and remove debris from conveyor system.
• Grease and lube pulleys, rollers, head frames, etc.
• Splice and patch belting as needed.
• Operate support equipment such as a skid steer, fork lift, man lift and / or dump truck to aid in completion of tasks.
• Inspect equipment prior to shift for safety, environmental and maintenance defects by completing the daily plant expecting form and turn into the Foreman and site Manager.
• Assist in replacing motors, idlers, pulleys, v-belts, couplings, bearings, gear boxes, etc.
• Monitor ground conditions in area you are maintaining
• Complete Daily pre/ post / shift inspections - report as needed to Foreman and Site Manager.
• Maintain adequate cleanliness of equipment- report any defects to Foreman and Site Manager.
• Monitor environmental compliance (dust) of area.
• Inspect wear items on equipment & report as needed to Foreman and Site Manager.
• Perform housekeeping (clean, shovel, remove trash and debris) to ensure a safe, clean and complaint operation. Ensure site remains compliant with all MSHA, CALOSHA and EPA standards.
• Other duties as outlined by Foreman and/or Site Manager.

• Understands MSHA and CALOSHA regulations
• Must have a strong team oriented work ethic with strong focus on safety and environmental compliance.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Must be able to follow oral, written plans and directions

Employee must wear required personal protective equipment; up to and including safety vest, hard hat, ear protection, gloves and safety glasses.

• Ability to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis
• Climb up and down ladders, stairs and equipment throughout the course of a shift
• Stoop, reach, squat, bend, kneel, push, pull and walk on uneven surfaces
• Able to work in wet and dry conditions and extreme heat and cold

Related experience preferred but not mandatory.
